Microsoft has essentially re-worked their Vista operating system in Windows 7 by removing the annoying features of Vista and keeping the features that people are actually using.

If you are looking to upgrade to an operating system from XP, hold off for Windows 7. I've been running the release candidate for about a week and so far I don't have any complaints about the OS itself. I'm just waiting for the manufacturers of my peripherals to catch up with drivers.
